Based on the lettering used on Alan Turing’s famous code-breaking machine at Bletchley Park, the “Bombe”, and the subsequent British answer to the German Enigma machine, the Typex.

Research done at Bletchley Park on their restored and antique machines provided the inspiration. The unusual shapes for the capitals have all been retained - the square O, the monospaced characters and other eccentricities that make it unique. This reference material was then extended to the numerals (which did not exist in the original) and a full international character complement.

The initial design of the bombe was produced in 1939 at the UK Government Code and Cypher School (GC&CS) at Bletchley Park by Alan Turing, with an important refinement devised in 1940 by Gordon Welchman. It was based on a device that had been designed in 1938 in Poland at the Biuro Szyfrów (Cipher Bureau) by cryptologist Marian Rejewski, and known as the “cryptologic bomb” (Polish: bomba kryptologiczna).

The Bombe was used to break the German Enigma code on a daily basis, and was a vital part of the Allied war effort. The British “Typex” (alternatively, Type X or TypeX) machines were an adaptation of the commercial German Enigma with a number of enhancements that greatly increased its security. It was used from 1937 until the mid-1950s, when other more modern military encryption systems came into use.

Designed by Craig Stainton, SB Duplex is a pixel font family. This typeface has fourteen styles and was published by SelfBuild Type Foundry.

• 8x SVG Color fonts.
• 6x OpenType fonts designed for layering.
• 6x WOFF fonts designed for layering.
• Each font contains 73 glyphs.

SB Duplex Pixel is an experiment in legibility at low resolutions. It is a lower case only, pixel style typeface with an x-height of only two pixels. Although it is very difficult to make text this size easy to read, it attempts to retain some legibility by using hand anti-aliasing.

SB Duplex Dot follows the same formula but uses circles instead of pixels. It isn’t very legible, but works nicely as a more abstract graphic element to complement the pixel version.

Both fonts have SVG Color versions, covering transparent, opaque and reversed out use. There are also OpenType versions designed to be layered and recoloured.

Download Designer Genes Fonts Family From Comicraft
Designed by John Roshell, Designer Genes is a display and pixel font family. This typeface has four styles and was published by Comicraft.

After eleven years and millions of character combinations, scientists at the Comicraft Alphabet Genome research facility in the Mojave Desert, under the direction of the genetartist known only as ’Ladronn,’ have finally determined the DNA sequence responsible for ensuring a good eye for design. DESIGNERGENES has been modified by our genetic engineers to guarantee high performance display lettering every time. Thanks to the selfless sacrifice of Comicraft volunteers, various mutations of this font have been thoroughly tested in the pages of UNCANNY X-MEN, NEW X-MEN and HIP FLASK: UNNATURAL SELECTION and can now be introduced to human society at large.

Designed by Jakob Fischer, Pixel Pants is a pixel and retro font family. This typeface has four styles and was published by Pizzadude.dk.

Pixel Pants is my wanna-be 1980-ies pixelfont. Well, it really looks like a pixel font, but it’s kid of fake - at larger sizes you will notice the wacky and uneven lines, but it sure do bring back memories of the 80-ies!
I’ve made 5 different versions of each letter - just to break the monotony of the usual pixel font!
Insert coin and enjoy!
